Copper kills in other ways as well, according to Keevil, who has published papers on the effect. When a microbe lands on copper, ions blast the pathogen like an onslaught of missiles, preventing cell respiration and punching holes in the cell membrane or viral coating and creating free radicals that accelerate the kill, especially on dry surfaces. 

We had no idea how amazing the response to our copper cuff artist fundraiser would be. Within a week of starting the fundraiser we reached our goal of raising $2,500 and were able to support multiple artists left without income due to Covid-19 closures. Along with so many other artists we are anxious about our income in the following months. Now more than ever we feel the importance of supporting our community, of banding together and helping fellow artists. We continue making sales and donating to artists and musicians. These are challenging times but together we will overcome. We need each other more than ever and we are doing our part to help, you can too. Copper cuff sales will be donated directly to creative community members who are suddenly dealing with economic disruptions to their livelihood.
