    On my way to the Tucson Gem show earlier this year I had the pleasure of a serendipitous meeting. The first female appointed as a Supreme Court Justice in the South Dakota Court sat next to me. Her story was one of perseverance, pushing boundaries and ruling judiciously in a state she cares deeply for. Later, these details would ultimately inform the symbology I included in her ring design.
